We haven’t been to Stissing House for brunch yet but we are happy to see eggs & soldiers on the menu—it’s hard to beat dippy toast. The “Hunter’s Breakfast” with wood-fired beans, homemade sausage, and wild mushrooms also sounds like a fun way to start a weekend day.

The Golden Russet has a bit of a cult following, for good reason. The breakfast menu is short but perfect: a very good breakfast sandwich, a suspiciously good slice of banana bread, a yogurt parfait, and overnight oats.

Rhinebeck Bagels is an unusually good bagel shop. Owner Jeremy brings herbs and vegetables from his garden to the shop to make special cream cheeses—or forages ramps in the spring. Last year he surprised and delighted everyone in the dead of winter by producing ramp cream cheese from some ramps he had frozen. Their watermelon lemonade is the most refreshing liquid we have here on Earth. Sometimes they’ll make a limited quantity of something special like lobster rolls and they sell out right away.
